Outfest Turns Up the Heat this Summer

Whether you live close enough to Los Angeles or not, Outfest should be on your radar because so many of these films may end up at your local film festival or on Netflix and Amazon Prime.  One of the premiere LGBTQ film festivals in the world, this year's festival, which runs July 7 - 17, features hundreds of films featuring lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender people and their allies for people all of all ages and from around the globe. The festival kicks off with Clea DuVall's (But I'm a Cheerleader, Argo, American Horror Story: Asylum) directorial debut The Intervention and ends with James Franco's highly anticipated King Cobra. From established names in Hollywood like Franco to 16 to 24-year-old burgeoning filmmakers in the Outset shorts program, Outfest's films seek to touch as many lives as possible. Here are 23 films we're excited to see.
